Week #86

Ni sa bula Vinaka! This last week went by so fast! Probably because we have been so busy haha! This whole past week was filled with meetings and proselyting in our area. Elder Stock and I have just been giving it everything we have and are seeing some pretty awesome miracles. This week we started teaching a lot of new investigators. For awhile now I've felt prompted to go and try to contact this guy who lives outside the village. We saw him one time at one of our member's homes and he seemed interested. Tuesday evening Elder Stock and I went up to his house and lucky for us...and for him, he and his wife were there. His name is Josaia and he's what you call a Kailua (half cast). He's half Irish and half fijian.....pretty cool. As we sat down with Josaia and his wife we found out something cool about him. He was originally going to paint the mural for the Fiji Suva Temple. He's a way talented artist. He doesn't know a lot about the church but that's going to change. He and his wife are interested in the temple and want to be sealed together. I'm pretty pumped to be able to teach them!  We also got a referral from the Singh family.  Sister Singh's mother, father, and brother live in Lomai village and have talked them in to letting us come over and share with them the lessons.  Sister Singh has two daughters who are preparing to serve missions and so we're going to let them practice teaching the lessons to their family! Within that same village we also met another family.  A mom and a dad with tons of little kids. Peni and Vaseva are their names and they are way solid. Just the other day we sat down with Peni and showed him Heavenly Father's plan for us and he loved it. He said he knows our church is true. He's noticed that all the people who have converted in his village are mocked  by all the other villagers but he said he knows that means this church is true. Pretty wise man. Some of his kids came to church with us this past sunday and we're aiming for the parents to come next week. I am loving it out here where the work is moving so fast. Peatai and Maritina were confirmed this last Sunday and are really becoming more involved in the group. Two of their sons, Filemone and Sanaila are preparing to be baptized this Sunday!  Last week we started with no real solid investigators. We just tried to have as much faith and hope as we could and went out and worked and miracles are starting to happen in Naitasiri. This week we are the first zone to have zone conference and so I'm pretty excited. I have not been able to listen to general conference yet, but I just downloaded it onto my flash drive so we can listen to it in the car. It's going to be sick. I had some resolves this past week to make small changes to be more in tune with Heavenly Father and I can feel the difference. Exact obedience isn't just a term used by missionaries it should be applied to everyone. If we follow exactly the laws of God at least all that we are able, then we will see miracles in our lives. I can testify of that. I love this work. I am so tired but I feel like I have so much energy. The spirit is real.

Love, Elder Jonutz
